In order to achieve the goal of Kalmunaians Forum “self-sufficiency in the basic needs of the people of Kalmunai Region”, number projects are being carried out by the forum. In that regard, new water connections have recently been handed over to 15 beneficiary families. With the aim of bringing drinking water connection to all families in Kalmunai region, the project was initiated by the Kalmunaians Forum in 2017. Sadaqatul Fitr project implemented annually in the month of Ramadan by the Kalmunaians Forum has been successfully completed this year too for the sixth year in order for the families who are in need to celebrate the Eid festival. 150 beneficiaries were benefitted under the project. with the money collected through the tills given in the early part of Ramadan and received as donations. Kalmunaians Forum is promoting various livelihood development projects and relief distributions focusing on the Kalmunai region. Kalmunians Forum implemented a scheme to distribute relief funds to families headed by women whose livelihoods have been disrupted due to the economic crisis in the country yesterday, 02nd of September 2022. Financial relief of Rs 20,000 each was given to 30 families selected as beneficiaries from the areas of Malikaikadu, Sainthamaruthu , Kalmunai, Islamabad and Natpiddimunai.
